Some lucky women have that innate sense of fashion flair. It seems that such women have no problem picking the absolute perfect costume, no matter what the occasion. If you're not such a naturally gifted fashionista, don't despair. Most of us unfortunately fall into the second category. Shopping for clothes can become a chore when it takes three hours to find an outfit that you think you like. For important fashion events like parties, this can be a particularly trying shopping trip. If you've been invited to a party and are agonizing over just how to attract the attentions of that hot guy from the office, here are some tips to make your party dress a hot number. First, consider the party. Is it a sit-down dinner affair? Is the party being held at a club, with plenty of dancing afoot? Is it a sorority event with an abundance of wild costumes or more casual wear? Each of these events requires a different take on your party dress. The sit-down dinner is usually a more formal event. Although there may be dancing, it's probably not replete with hard rock music choices. More like pop or ballroom stuff. More mingling of the cocktail party style. Your party dress choice should suit this mood. A long party dress of a more conservative styling is your starting point. This doesn't mean it can't be hot. Think graceful and alluring, while not being overtly revealing. If you're clubbing, your party dress will be put through its paces. A shorter gown is more practical and in keeping with the main activity of dancing all night long. Glitter and sparkle go a long way here. This party garment can be more radical than one suited to the sit-down dinner. Party shoes with lights or ribbons spiraling up your legs are great additions to this costume. How about the sorority party where wild apparel is the norm? You can go with something like the club number or stand out from the crowd of radicals with an LBD that's accessorized with some radical jewelry and a truly outstanding hat. For example, a wide-brimmed hat rimmed with silk flowers gives you a mysterious look that men find seductive, making them curious to make your acquaintance. The understated dress can upstage the competition big time. If the sorority event is a casual event, don't overdo it. This party dress should be simple, casual but elegant. A pure silk dress of a single color, paired with platforms of a plain design, should do the trick. In all cases, your dress should never be so revealing as to leave nothing to the imagination. Men are far more intrigued by what they cannot see than by what they can. When you use these guidelines for the right party dress, you'll find it becomes easier when shopping. You'll soon learn to spot that perfect dress in a heartbeat!
