Civil War Reproductions

image

I'm a huge American history buff, and my favorite period of all is the Civil War. I love reading analyses of the conflict, as well as biographies of the major players of the time, including Ulysses S. Grant, Robert E. Lee, William Sherman, and of course, Abraham Lincoln. I also love to decorate my home with Civil War reproductions and collectibles that I purchase from various retailers.

Don't get me wrong: I would give anything to be able to buy authentic memorabilia from that period, but there's simply no way I'd be able to afford such items. Nevertheless, I didn't want to let something like money prevent me from surrounding myself with posters, prints, photos, newspaper articles, clothing, and weapons from the era. So given my budget, I have to content myself with quality Civil War reproductions instead.

When I first started purchasing Civil War reproductions, I just settled for whatever I could find at the mall and other local stores. As a result, I usually ended up paying far too much for merchandise that wasn't even of decent quality. Then a few friends of mine taught me what characteristics I should look for in Civil War reproductions, and told me how to determine whether or not a price was fair. After that, I started making much smarter decisions about my purchases, and my collection really began to take off.

These days, I mostly buy my replicas from websites that specialize in Civil War reproductions and collectibles. Over the years, I've found a handful of online retailers that consistently offer a wide selection of quality merchandise at competitive prices. I always Most of these stores also offer appropriate accessories, such as customized frames for posters and prints, or display cases for weapons. I almost always buy these extras, as they allow me not only to show off my collection in style, but also protect some of my more expensive Civil War reproductions from the elements.

I have to say that my collection gets a lot of compliments from my visitors and guests. Whenever I have people over for the first time, they invariably spend most of the evening looking over my Civil War reproductions. Some of them even go so far as to ask where they can get duplicates of a couple of my pieces. Since these are all just replicas anyway, I don't mind sharing my secrets with anyone who's interested!
