Coins Values
Most coins values are easy to find if you know where to look. It really depends on what you are collecting. Some like to collect buffalo nickels, though the coins values for each of them vary. Some of the information on the most valued of these can be found online, and some sites are very current with pricing and letting you know how hard something is to find. The most common coins are not as valuable of course, but they may still hold some value in the long run.
You can also find books that tell you about coins values, but they might not be as up to date as the ones you can find online. However, some of the most common collectables in coins remain the same, and a good book can, at the very least, give you a good idea of what you might look for when searching for various coins that might have some long-standing value. Many valuable coins are still in circulation because many have no idea, and they pop them into a machine to buy a soda or store them in a piggy bank for savings. These can be found by collectors if they look long and hard enough.
Some coins values are not yet known. There are some special mints that collectors buy hoping they will be valuable in the future. At one time, the US Mint put out a small series of collectible platinum coins. They were not meant for circulation, but were instead something collectors could buy with the hopes they will go up in value in the future. Platinum is expensive, so as far as coins values go, these might end up being worth a lot years down the road. That can’t be a certainty though, but it is a good bet if you want to start your own collection today.
