Foster Parent
Our world is filled with children who got gypped. Far too many babies are born who will never meet their biological parents. Can you even imagine how hard that would be? I personally can't fathom a life without my parents raising me from birth. It just seems like part of the standard routine that every child deserves. But naturally not all parents can provide for their kids for a number of reasons. Maybe they're not fit due to drug abuse or a mental affliction, maybe they had the child at too young of an age, or maybe they simply never wanted children in the first place. These are all the stories of many existing parents out there. This is where a foster parent comes into the picture. Suddenly the main concern becomes whether or not the foster guardian is worthy of the position.
There's no way you missed the news-breaking story about the young boy and his foster parents. Apparently they left him alone and defenseless, while they went off on a trip. It was a tragedy no one wanted to hear about. Some things we just have trouble believing people are capable of. Now the process of becoming a foster parent is changing. This is justified to say the very least. We have to wonder who all they're letting become foster parents now days. Some people are NOT up for the task. Instead they're just looking for a way to pay the bills. Although it sounds terrible, some individuals and couples look at children without parents as a meal ticket. You don't get much lower than that.
For those who're unable to have children of their own, but wish too, maybe becoming a foster parent is right for you. This is a way to fill that void in your life and know what it's like to care for a child. You can be a parent to someone who truly needs you if you want it. There are even organizations available to assist you with finances and parenting advice. You could be the one to change a child's life forever. But, be sure to ponder this responsibility carefully before going after it. It is a full-time job that requires a lifetime of patience and understanding.

Summary
Choosing to become a foster parent requires a great deal of patience and love. It also requires the adult to be responsible. Too many times we hear on the news about the bad things foster parents do. The good ones are god sends to these children who have no place to go.
