Odor Removal
One of the biggest challenges anyone has in the home is odor removal. It’s not something most will talk about openly, but it is a problem that most have, even if they won’t admit it. This is a problem for anyone, but is a bigger problem for those who have children and/or pets. It can be very challenging to track down and identify every odd smell that comes around, but it is something that most do at least a few times a week, if not more.
There are more and more products on the market for odor removal, but most of them don’t work as well as one would hope. There are air fresheners that can work well, for a while, but they tend to cover the odor for a short time, and the smell is back shortly after. These are great for odor removal in a pinch, but should not be relied upon all of the time. Instead, you have to find something that really gets into fabrics and carpets and eliminates the source of the smell. That is the only way it can truly be gone for good.
There are products like Febreze that tend to work in many cases, but they won’t work for everything. They can make furniture, rugs, cars, and closets smell better, but the most stubborn types of odors are going to hang on for dear life. You don’t have to worry when using a product like this for odor removal either. Despite certain urban legends, they don’t pose a threat to your children or your pets, but you should use common sense when using them.
As new products for odor removal come out on the market, we may stumble across something that finally works on everything. However, until that day comes, there are some things for odor removal that may be necessary. When you have a smell that just won’t go away no matter what you have done, you may have to consider replacing whatever it is that smells. This can be expensive, but it all depends on if you can live with it or not. You may try, but most end up tossing things when nothing can be done. I’ve lost a few chairs to this, but in the end the smell is enough to drive your nuts, so you may not mind tossing a few things to give your nose some relief.
