Poker Card Table It seems that there are times when different crazes sweep across the nation. Some times the craze will have a very short life span and other times the fad or activity will become part of the culture. For the past several years this activity has been Texas hold’em poker. The game is being played everywhere. People play in their homes, casinos, private clubs and on-line. There are entire weekends of television dedicated to watching others play. I personally think it is a bit strange to watch someone play cards on television, but my son and husband love it. Our neighbors love to play. They bought a poker card table to make playing at home more fun. They have a rather small home so they did not have room for a poker table that would be up all the time. The poker card table folds like a regular card table, but it is round. There are also places to put your chips so they are not falling on the floor or spreading out onto the table. By having the separate poker card table they can leave their game set up and still have a place to eat on their dining room table. Prior to getting the poker card table my neighbor would have to serve the food on the kitchen counter buffet style and they would sit in the living room and eat holding their plates on their laps. My husband and I enjoy playing poker also, but to the extent that we thought we needed a poker card table. However at a garage sale I found a top that converts a common square card table into a round table. The device is made out of a light weight plastic that is folded into quarters. When you unfold it, it creates a circle. There is a flap with Velcro on it to allow the cards to slip across the seams. The top for the table is about a half inch thick and extends slightly over the square table. I like the fact that with this device you can seat six people at a card table and no one has to contend with sitting next to the legs. When the top is not in use it folds and can be easily stored next to the card table and chairs. I do not know how often we will hold poker night, but it is a nice device to have to create more seating whether or not you are playing cards. At the same garage sale I picked up individual poker chip holders to help keep the chips on the table. Summary Poker card tables are a neat little item many people do not have. You can find one at a discount from local yard sales or by shopping online. Tables usually hold up to six people comfortable along with beverages and snacks as well as cards.
