v Straw Hats Baseball hats seem to be all the rage in this country for summer sun protection, but for my money straw hats are the way to go. The straw hat is a uniquely functional piece of clothing. Function is, after all, what summer is all about. The trick with summer clothes is to strike the right balance between flattering, minimal clothing, and adequate sun protection. After all, you don't want to have to be slathering on sun block every 10 minutes. Nothing can ruin your summer day like being covered in greasy lotion. This is where hats come in handy. A cowboy hat, however, is a little bit too hot for the summer even though it provides enough protection. A baseball cap, on the other hand, does not provide nearly enough protection even though it isn't too heavy. A straw sun hat will strike the right balance between the two, fully shading your head along with your ears and neck, while at the same time letting some ventilation reach your head. I have a pretty big head, and it is pretty hard to find hats that will fit me sometimes. In previous years, I would just use Chinese straw hats. They have a shape that easily accommodates a wide range of different heads, and s unique look to them to make me stand out in a crowd. This year, however, I found the perfect straw fedora. I had never really seen a straw hat that looks nearly that nice before. Previously, I thought the floppy straw hats were the only option. It turns out you can make a well fitted, comfortable straw hat and sell it for a reasonable price. I hope the straw fedora lasts – it is now my favorite hat. Of course, women have the most options for straw hats. A women can wear either a man's hat or a more ornamental and decorative woman's hat. Some of them can get so finely made and adorably painted that it is hard to remember that they are made out of straw at all. It is nice to know that, in this age of mass manufacturing, some traditions haven't lost anything. Hat making is as fine a craft as ever, although it can be a little bit harder to find the perfect hat than before. Still, if you're willing to take the time to do research, you can find something that will keep you in perfect comfort while looking quite fashionable. Summary Straw hats are a great fit for people who usually can't wear hats. Women and men both wear these hats which offer more sun protection than a regular baseball cap. Your head and neck are both protected from sunburn. It won't be hard to find a new straw hat to fit, and it will probably be your favorite hat.
